Skype is my favorite VoIP client, with Skype and OneSuite I have saved over $10,000 in phone call over the past 2 years. While Skype has a Mac OS X client, the Mac version lags way behind Windows in features.
The dues that a Mac user pays for membership in the Mac kingdom is always showing its ugly head. It is almost impossible to for people not to know that you are using a Mac while you are interacting with others on the web.
Windows users can always tell you are on a Mac because your IM client may not support the latest "winks", or your emails have unmapped characters, or in the case of Skype it is right there in their face. When Skyping with a Windows user recently, he promptly told me that my Skype client was old - it said as much on his Windows machine. The problem is that I am running the latest and greatest release Skype client for OS X :-(
The Mac OS X has its privileges, but it also has its price...
