Hardware Upgrade: The Apple Difference

I finally got around to ordering the memory upgrades for my PowerBook and Mac mini.

The Powerbook takes PC2700 DDR333 SO-DIMM
The Mac mini takes PC2700 DDR333 SDRAM

I first went to the Apple Online Store to purchase the additional memory but their prices did not seem right. A brief web comparison proved me right:

Apple store price: $500

MacSales price: $169

How can Apple justify a price 295% higher than everyone else?
